With the relaunch of their site and brand, Miura Golf wanted to offer customers the ability to purchase their clubs online. Purchasing golf clubs online is a complicated affair. Most sites use several drop-down menus with dozens of options for shafts, grips and other customization. A painful process for customers that aren't familiar with each individual option, and even more awkward for customers on mobile devices.

I worked closely with Miura's marketing department and our developers to build a product builder with a much simpler workflow. Customers would be walked through each step of their build, allowing customers to learn about each component that was offered, and customizing it to their needs.

The biggest challenge was dealing with some of the unusual complications of building a golf club. Iron's are purchased in varying sets, where other clubs can be purchased individually. That was further complicated by issues with their inventory management software where some sets were combined into a single SKU, and others had a unique SKU for each product. Working with our developer we came up with a solution to resolve the inventory management issues. After a few iterations, the most cost-effective solution to purchasing multiple clubs (ex. wedges) was to simply allow customers to use the club builder multiple times, adding each product to the cart.
